What is Computer

Properties of Computer

A computer has some important and useful properties. These are stated below.

Automatic: After setting some rules for humans, the computer will do its job automatically without any help from the user.

Speed: The computer can do work within a second. Human beings take years or an entire lifetime to finish it.

Accuracy: The computer does its work accurately. The risk per cent of mistakes is Zero. Any error we see in a task is the mistake of the user or the programmer.

Diligence: The computer cannot lose its concentration or diligence during, after or before work. It can do the same type of work for a long time.

Versatility: One computer can do different kinds of work. It has the same kind of ability for any type of work. For example, you can store your business information using Excel, listen to songs, play a game, paint, type, watch movies, etc.

Memory: Human beings store information in the memory. But day by day, all the information gets forgotten. But in the case of a computer, if anything, it is stored in its memory and will never be forgotten by the computer. Computer memory is much more powerful than human memory.

These are the good side of a computer. But there are some pitfalls compared with human beings.

Disadvantages of a Computer

  • The computer has no I.Q (Intelligent quotient).
  • The computer has no feeling.
  • There are risks of lost data because of Viruses and hacking.
