CBSE Class 10 and 12 students, starting from the 2024-25 sessions, will get the opportunity to sit for multiple exams. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently announced its decision to conduct board exams twice a year starting from the 2024-25 session.

This move aims to provide students with more opportunities to improve their performance and reduce the stress associated with a single high-stakes examination. The first examination will be conducted in November-December 2024, and the second exam will happen in February-March 2024. They can appear for the board exams twice a year. The new system will not be compulsory to follow.

This change is expected to benefit students in several ways. Firstly, it will provide them with an additional chance to improve their performance in case they are unable to achieve their desired results in the main exams. Secondly, it will reduce the pressure on students by distributing the examination load across two sessions. This will allow them to focus more on their studies and perform better overall.

The system was introduced to reduce exam stress on students who fear missing a single opportunity. If a student performs satisfactorily on the first attempt, he /she can choose not to appear in the second phase of the examination.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the twice-a-year exam format would start from the 2024-25 academic session. This means the system will be adopted from the 2025 Class 10 and 12 board exams.

The CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams 2024 2ill start from February 15. The Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will be increased in the upcoming board exams. Students need to face 20% of MCQ-based questions in Class 12 board exams in 2024.
